Alpha-Bisabolol is a major constituent of German Chamomile (Matricaria recutita) essential oil however commercially, alpha-bisabolol is distilled from the oil of the Candeia plant.
It is suitable for use in skin care products where the formulator wishes to take advantage of its anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties. As such it may be useful for protection of skin against stresses including cleansing, shaving, depilation, and sun exposure. It is also a useful ingredient in natural deodorants.
