Completely different to European Cypress, Australian Blue Cypress is a dark blue, somewhat viscous oil with anti-inflammatory properties similar to the more well-known blue oil, German Chamomile.
Nature/Essence – Soothing & Restorative
Blue Cypress is used for dry skin to aid hydration (good for skin depleted by environmental exposure). Its anti-inflammatory and healing properties may also be useful for minor burns, eczema, psoriasis or other dry irritated skin conditions. It can be nice in an aftershave balm or tonic, with a woody masculine scent combined with soothing nourishing properties.
Blue Cypress is recommended for respiratory support to help open the airways. It is also used in rubs to ease muscles and joints.
Blue Cypress is said to be grounding and balancing, helping promote focus and concentration.
Blue Cypress has been traditionally used in Australia as a mosquito repellent, and the oil may also be applied to ease itchy bites.
